MEADOW PUBLIC LIBRARY
ID 138
Spring 21'
This community library located in Southwest Fresno, California has been designed to provide comfort and flexibility. The library features floor-to-ceiling windows on the North and West side of the building to take advantage of as much natural lighting as possible. The interior includes modular furniture to allow for easy maneuvering and flexible spaces. The motif of the California poppy is used throughout the building. The flower represents imagination, recovery, eternal life, and restful sleep. The loft is in the shape of a rising poppy flower and is an area for studying, reading, and art viewing. A large curved staircase emphasizes the curve of the loft. The layout of the library helps promote comfort and relaxation while the furniture's bright orange accents bring forth feelings of rejuvenation and inspiration. This project was created in AutoCAD and rendered in photoshop. Partners: Linda Saysamongdy and Madeleine Balakian.
